Pushkar is a town in Rajasthan and is a famous pilgrim spot. It is located in the amidst of Aravali ranges and is also called as “tirtha-raj”. Many temples are located in Pushkar, of which Brahma temple is the famous one. Very few temples are dedicated to Brahma in the world, this is one of them. 

Pushkar Lake had 52 Ghats and many pilgrims all across the world visit this place to have a holy dip. Pushkar is nicely known as the “rose plantation of Rajasthan”. The interesting history and beautiful architecture will make you fall in love with this place. The world-famous annual camel fair festival will be held in every November here. Pushkar had now become the famous pilgrim spot in India. 

Pushkar Camel Fair: 

Pushkar Camel Fair is the famous festival held in November, which attracts almost 11,000 horses and camels, 400,000 tourists. You can find the camels doing tricks with accessories. Many rare breed horses of royal families will be found here. 

Many dancers, musicians and acrobats will attend this fair for giving performances. If you want to know about the Rajasthan culture and traditions, then this is the best place for you. This fair is the major crowd puller, hence many companies used to provide luxurious accommodation for the tourists.

Brahma Temple: 

The famous Brahma Temple is located in Pushkar. You are not allowed to take any electronics or bags inside the temple and many lockers will be provided to save your items. October to November is the best time to visit this temple. In the honour of the lord, during the night of Karthik Poornima, the grand festival will be held here. Many people used to visit this place during the festival and take a holy dip in the lake Pushkar. 

Pushkar Lake: 

Pushkar Lake is located in Pushkar, and almost 500 temples are located around this lake. It is to be believed that the lord Brahma had built this lake by dropping lotus into the pond and the water is believed to be sacred and contains many medical properties. This place is also called as Tirtha Raj, is believed to wash away all the sins. There were a total of 52 Ghats which are located on the edge of the Lake. The temple will be open from 9 A.M to 6 P.M. 

Man Mahal: 

Man Mahal is the grandest palace in Pushkar, which resembles the Rajasthan’s royal hospitality. This palace used to serve as the guest house for Raja Man Singh. It is one of the famous tourist spot, which is converted into a heritage hotel and operated by Rajasthan Tourism Development Corporation. The hotel offers various facilities like camel cart ride, camping and cattle fair of Pushkar. 

Things to Do: 

There are many activities conducted in Pushkar for the tourists. Many restaurants here will offer lip-smacking vegetarian food. Pushkar fair is the 5 days annual fair which is held with several sporting events. Shopping is the best thing to do here. Many authentic items of Rajasthan like wall hangings, puppets, and the Rajasthani fabric will be sold here. You can explore the city; experience the camel safari, jeep safari, Pushkar camel fair.

Pushkar is located at a distance of 11 kilometers from Ajmer and takes nearly 2 hours from Jaipur.
